Rebuilding Lives June 2006
From the Director’s Desk...
Dear New Life Friend,
It is a great privilege to be able to minister to
women of all ages from all walks of life. Last week
while interviewing a young lady she asked me, “Am I
too old to get help?” My response was absolutely
not – God has a plan and a purpose for your life and
He is giving you this opportunity to find the help
you need.
This month I want to share with you Denise’s
testimony. She writes,
“The best way to
begin my testimony
is with a
Scripture. All who know me from my past know I was
an impossible case. I’ve been through so many
different rehabilitation and detox centers. I’ve
had the best psychiatrists that money could buy.
But when Jesus looked at me He said, ‘With men this
is impossible, but with God all things are
possible’.
When I first came to
New Life I was running away from my circumstances.
I had no where to turn and nothing to lose. I don’t
know why when I was asked by my cousin, Lisa, if I
thought I needed rehab, I responded without delay
“YES.” Here I was a 50 year old woman who had been
using drugs since I was ten years old. Something
inside me knew my cousin had the answer that I had
been searching for. She had been serving the Lord
since she was 14 and I trusted her judgment. Lisa
and her pastor suggested that I should come to New
Life Home to receive the desperate help I needed.
When I walked through
the doors of New Life Home I did not know what to
expect. I anticipated going through heavy
withdrawals, but by God’s grace and mercy I had no
symptoms of withdrawals. Through the program God
has not only delivered me from sin and drugs, but
has given me a home and a family. I have just
graduated from the program and I am honored to now
use my gifts and talents, and have become the chef
for the home. I am privileged to serve in this
capacity and I am thankful for the opportunity to
give back.
Yes, with men this is
impossible, but with God all things are possible. I
thank God for giving me a new life, a new home, and
most of all a reason for living.”
When we look back on Denise’s life we know her life
is a living testimony of God’s great power to change
hearts and lives. What a glorious victory we have
seen take place before us. It is our desire to see
hundreds of women, just like Denise, receive God’s
deliverance for their lives.
It
is through your consistent support that we are able
to maintain this ministry. Your monthly support
enables us to keep the home operating, without
having to charge the women a fee in order to cover
the costs. Your love and faithfulness to this work
is so much needed and appreciated. Our prayer is
that God will bless you as you give to Him.
In His Love,
George & Grace
