  From the Director’s Desk...

The songwriter, John Newton, so aptly penned these words, “Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.”

We can surely identify with the words and sentiments of this song. It has been one of the most challenging times of our ministry. In spite of all the trials and heartaches the Word tells us, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (I Cor. 15: 57 – 58 KJV).

We are pressing forward believing God to meet us physically, financially, and spiritually. The home is buzzing with the sound of children playing. The women are being nurtured daily in God’s Word. It is spring and there is a newness of life. What an awesome privilege to see women and their children restored by God’s amazing grace.

This month we want to share Samantha’s testimony with you…

Mother and Daughter“Nearly eleven months ago I sat with my back up against a cold concrete wall. My head hung low, heavy with shame, guilt, and a fresh black eye from my boyfriend. I stared down at my needle-tracked arms clenching my knees close to my chest – I was terrified of what the future might hold. If that was not bad enough, at the center of it all was an innocent unborn child. I had been a prisoner most of my life to depression. Later to drugs and physical abuse, but this was the first time I was in jail. The first time I had the responsibility of another life in my hands.

Disgusted with my lifestyle, I was compelled to change. I began to attend the weekly church services at the jail. That is where I first learned about God’s grace, salvation, forgiveness, and the Lord’s “plans to prosper me and not harm me, plans to give me a future and a hope” (Jer. 29:11 NIV). I finally had a positive outlook on life. Through God’s perfect planning and timing I then received information about New Life Home for Women and Children, all the way in Florida! I knew that this was the answer to my prayers. I knew that this was where I needed to be.

The freedom that I dreamed of became a reality when I walked through the doors of New Life Home. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come” (II Cor. 5:17NASB). Today, my life is blessed, and I am the mother of a happy, healthy, and beautiful five-month-old little girl. Through my godly leadership and teachers I am learning how to love, trust, and understand how to apply the Bible to my everyday life. New Life Home has been a place of safety for us. I have been in the program for nine months and I look forward to enjoying the journey of motherhood ahead. I am grateful for the things that I am learning here so that one day I can impart them to my daughter. Today, I am not longer a victim of the world, I am a victor in Christ!”

Your help is urgently needed. If you are able to send a special love gift this month – this will help us catch up on our winter debt.
